CATL Kickstart Work Session

On, Wednesday, August 24, CATL is hosting a daylong work session at which faculty & instructors can prepare a syllabus, plan a course, put the finishing touches on a course preparation, design a new assignment, discuss teaching issues with consultants, or simply explore alternative teaching practices. This combination of dedicated work-time, resources, feedback and on-demand consultation is intended to help faculty and instructors feel better prepared for the coming semester.

Faculty and instructors are invited to register online.

Here's how the daylong session will work:

  • Prior to the session, instructors are invited to identify aspects of their course(s) and teaching for revision and improvement.
  • Instructors are requested to bring teaching materials to the session, along with their computer.
  • A 15-minute overview of available resources will be provided at the start of the session.
  • Instructors can use the day to make improvements to their courses, materials, and practices.
  • Colleagues and CATL Staff will be available to discuss questions and teaching concerns throughout the day.
  • Refreshments and coffee will be available throughout the session, and there is a lunch option for those who register.
  • Instructors will leave the session with a revision or plan to improve their chosen teaching material.
