The Importance of Being Earnest (by Oscar Wilde)

Oscar Wilde’s witty play about mistaken identities; a superb satire on Victorian manners

Two bachelor friends, the adorable dandy Algernon Moncrieff and the utterly reliable John Worthing lead double lives to court the attentions of the exquisitely desirable Gwendolyn Fairfax and Cecily Cardew.  Both gentlemen use the pseudonym, Earnest, for their on the sly courtship activities.  Pandemonium ensues when the two men find themselves face-to-face and have to explain who they really are with riotous consequences.
