Backpacking: Porcupine Mountains

Nestled on the south shore of Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness area is a nature lover’s dream and a top Midwest backpacking destination. The park’s 60,000 acres are one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. Towering virgin timber, secluded lakes, and miles of wild rivers and streams make a visit to the “Porkies” a trip to remember. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All participants must be able to leave Friday morning in order to participate in this trip.
