America's Poor Kids - edDOCs Documentary Series

11:30-12:00pm:edDOCs Social - Join us for conversations related to topics addressed in the film and general networking. Refreshments of food and drink will be provided. 

 

12:00-1:00 pm:Film Showing - In this one-hour documentary, the lives of three children whose families are struggling to deal with unemployment, homelessness, and poverty are the focus. Kaylie (10-years-old) struggles with hunger and spends her time collecting cans to pay for food. Johnny (13-years-old) ends up in the Salvation Army have his father loses his construction business. Sera (10-years-old) has learned how to defend herself as she resides in a dangerous neighborhood with drug dealers on most corners. With child poverty escalating this documentary provides unique insight into how economic instability impacts our children
