Beating the Odds: Learning from Failures & Successes

The UW-La Crosse College of Business Administration and Citizens State Bank welcome alumnus and dental industry executive, Perry Lowe, to present the next of its 2017 Executive Lecture Series. His career story is one of beating the odds by learning from professional failures and successes. This presentation is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to an informal After Hours following the lecture in Hall of Nations/1300 Centennial Hall.

Mr. Lowe grew up with a modest background as the oldest of five children and the first from his blue collar family to graduate from college. While attending UWL he worked full time, managed to study abroad for one year, and graduated in 1991 with degrees in Marketing and Political Science. Throughout his career, he has created value through scaling organizations, strategic planning, leadership, and organizational development. In his talk, he will share the tenets of leadership and the professional processes and habits to which he credits his own success and that of many others.

Mr. Lowe started his career in the dental industry as a sales person before founding Axis Dental in 1997. Over the next decade plus, Axis became a market leader in North America and was sold to Danaher Corporation in 2009. Lowe spent the next five years running a $200 million global dental business for Danaher before leaving to work with Private Equity. He is currently CEO and President of Six Month Smiles. Mr. Lowe resides in Dallas with his wife and two young children.  An avid golfer and a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan, he also enjoys food, wine, travel, reading and fitness.

The 2017 UWL College of Business Administration Executive Lecture Series is made possible by the generous support of Citizens State Bank. This series provides students and faculty with opportunities to learn about business management and leadership, directly from today’s business leaders. It supports the CBA mission to foster academic excellence, career success, and community engagement through enriching, interactive experiences.
