Women Film Directors

A statistic: Women comprise 7% of the directors of the top grossing 250 movies. We’ll be discussing the causes of this while we’re discovering many wonderful women film directors. We’ll be discussing directors from silent movies days to the present, from Dorothy Arzner to Ava DuVernay. We’ll be focusing mostly on American directors but we’ll discuss some notable directors from other countries. We’ll have four three hour classes. We’ll see a full length movie and some film clips at each session.
