Combinatory Digital Poetics in Electronic Literature/Film by Scott Rettberg - Seven Rivers Region Fulbright Chapter

As part of the Seven Rivers Region Fulbright Chapter yearly series, this year, Winona is featuring Scott Rettberg from the University of Bergen. By way of a brief introduction, he is a featured speaker at this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Forum at Augsburg, where he will be discussing his experimental film, “Hearts and Minds: The Interrogations Project” (http://www.crchange.net/hearts-and-minds/). Though Scott Rettberg has never had a Fulbright himself he has worked with the Norwegian Fulbright Foundation and hosts Fulbrights to Norway.

He will be discussing how an interest in combinatory poetics reflected first in projects such as the poetry generators "Frequency," "Tokyo Garage," and "After Parthenope" merged in collaborations with Roderick Coover and Nick Montfort in the combinatory film "Three Rails Live" and Subsequently with Coover the Feature-length combinaory film "Toxi*City" and the new work-in-progress (recently filmed in Ireland) "Circe."
