Centennial Hall, UW-La Crosse

Join us for a one-day symposium on hate/bias incidents and crimes in a collective effort to build teams, responsive cultures, and inclusive campuses.

Objectives include:

  • Establish a network of hate/bias responders throughout Wisconsin and surrounding regions.
  • Explore trends and best practices for hate/bias response within higher education and beyond.
  • Grapple with current issues, legal complexities, and institutional barriers regarding hate/bias incidents and crimes.
  • Provide support, resources and ideas for campuses that are working toward the establishment of a hate/bias response team.

The primary audience for this symposium is hate/bias response teams within higher education, typically including chief diversity officers, Affirmative Action directors, counseling staff, LGBT directors, multicultural directors/coordinators, residence life directors, violence prevention specialists, university police, and university administrators.
