Spanish Film Club

The goal of the Spanish Club in colaboration with the department of Modern Languages is to introduce students and a generally broader audience to the cultures of Ibero American countries and to create a stable exhibition platform of the latest Spanish and Portuguese language cinema. Knowledge and cultural exchange are keys in a country where Hispanics are the largest minority.

This year we are proud to present the next five films followed by a discussion:

Neruda - Sergio Guerrero ---March 19th 4:30 p.m.

Panama Canal Stories --- March 19thSpanish Club 7 p.m.

Empty Classroom ---March 20th Kimberly Morris 4:30 p.m.

Don't Call Me Son ---March 20thWillem  Van Rosenbeek 7:00 p.m.

The Companion --- March 21stOmar Granados 4:30 p.m.

It is always my aim to introduce thought-provoking texts that challenge student assumptions about cultural otherness in the courses that I teach. The festival offered a superb repertoire for discussions of this nature.”
– Dr. Jennifer M. Formwalt, Assistant Professor of Spanish, Director Spanish Summer Language Institute, North Georgia College
