Area assembly seat debates set for Oct. 23

Candidates for two La Crosse area contested assembly seats will square off in a debate at UWL

Candidates in the 94th Assembly District, Rep. Steve Doyle, a Democrat, and opponent Albert Rohland, a Republican, will debate at 6:30 p.m.

Candidates in the 96th Assembly District, Paul Buhr, a Democrat, and opponent Loren Oldenburg, a Republican, will debate at 7:30 p.m.

Along with the UWL Joint Legislative Relations Committee, debate sponsors include the La Crosse Tribune, WXOW News 19, WKBT News 8, League of Women Voters, WLSU/WPR, and WIZM/Midwest Family Radio.

Campus sponsors include Academic Staff CouncilFaculty SenateUniversity Staff CouncilStudent Association and the Political Science/Public Administration Department.

The 94th Assembly District includes all of La Crosse county except the City of La Crosse. The 96th Assembly District includes all of Vernon and Crawford counties and part of Monroe County.
