A Celebration in Honor of Toni Morrison

Winner of the Nobel and Pulitzer Prizes for Literature

Join us to celebrate the life and works of American novelist Toni Morrison (1931-2019).  Professor Emeritus of English Dr. Sharon Jessee will begin the program with an introduction to Morrison's importance for American literature and culture. This will be followed by audiovisual clips and readings by the audience. All are invited to share a favorite short passage from Morrison's creative or critical works or to simply listen. Bring your own book, or borrow one at the event.

Sponsored by: The Department of English, The Institute for Social Justice, and the Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
