Global Initiatives Week Event

SOUP’s ON! Please like and share this event to spread the word and help us raise even more money for some remarkable projects.

The Fall La Crosse SOUP-Global Night event will be at the Concordia Ballroom in celebration of Global Initiatives Week. Come and help us celebrate the amazing global connections in our community with a special performance by the most recent La Crosse SOUP winners - the Hmong Youth Dance Troupe.

La Crosse SOUP events are for people of all ages and together we strive to make this city better. For a suggested donation of $5, attendees receive a cup of soup and a vote. Together, we will listen to four groups who each have four minutes to share an idea on how to make this community better. The audience can ask up to four questions of each presenter. Once all ideas are shared, everyone votes for her/his favorite. At the end of the night, the votes are counted and one of the groups will walk away with all the money raised that evening. Three months ago Cia Siab Inc, made a pitch to create a Hmong Youth Dance Troupe and took home $2,364.31!

Joining in the SOUP fun will be several local businesses providing soups with an ethnic focus. As usual we will have additional items available to raise further donations for the winning pitch: a local brewery will be providing beer and we’ll have students from a local school providing drinks and desserts.

Plan on coming early to find a seat, eat, and connect with your friends and neighbors.

5:00 – Doors open (food and drinks served)

6:00 – Program begins

7:30 – Winner announced

To keep expenses low and minimize impact on our planet, please try to bring your own bowl and spoon. If you forget, don’t worry, we will have some biodegradable spoons and bowls for you to use. There will be some tables and chairs, but please feel free to bring your own blankets if that is more your style. As always reach out if you have any questions.
