Take 5 & Kickstart

Let's get ready for our spring 2020 courses! This day will feature a morning of programming and an afternoon of supported work time. Lunch will be provided for those attending the whole day; please register so we can place an accurate food order. Each program will feature 5 strategies to improve teaching and learning. 

SCHEDULE:

9:30-12:00 = TAKE 5...Strategies to Improve Teaching and Learning
(tentative topics)

  • 9:30-10:00: 5 Strategies for an Engaging First Day of Class
  • 10:00-10:30: 5 Strategies to Create an Inclusive Classroom 
  • 10:30-11:00: 5 Strategies for Effective Written Feedback
  • 11:00-11:30: 5 Strategies to Save Time Using Canvas
  • 11:30-12:00: 5 Strategies to Increase Student Motivation

12:00-12:30 - Lunch and Socializing

12:30-4:00pm - Kickstart: This is where you find a space in Murphy 150 and get things kickstarted for your spring 2020 courses. The room is quiet and stocked with coffee and snacks. If you need support from the CATL staff or want to talk with colleagues, head over to 153 Murphy.
